Mission Statement

We Pledge to do the following:

  • To provide a highly interactive and hands-on physical environment
  • To ensure the safety of all children
  • We provide healthy snacks that are in accordance with the Canada Food Guide
  • Having a staff/child ratio will help to provide opportunities for children to receive quality one-to-one interactions, which allow them to feel secure in exploring their environment
  • In order to understand and incorporate the individual learning styles and rates of development into the program, the educators have specific times when they will be observing and taking notes on each child as they play and interact with their peers
  • We will provide children with opportunity to make choices and decisions

Staff

The staff/child ratio is in keeping with the Community Care Facility Act. All regular child care staff are licensed to practice, in BC as Early Childhood Educators. The School Aged Program staffs have appropriate degrees/certificates for school aged programming. All staff working directly with the children have a current first-aid certificate. All staff, students and volunteers must submit to and clear a criminal record check.

As a practicum site for the Thompson Rivers University Early Childhood Education Program, the center models and maintains best practice child care philosophies and techniques.

Kids Time Childcare Ltd was opened in September 2001 and operates a fully licensed center with qualified staff.
